Christi Carter began her nursing career in 2013, working on the mother/baby unit, caring for postpartum mothers and their newborns, high risk antepartum patients and post gynecological surgery patients.
Carter received her BSN and MSN at Western Governor's University, and also holds a certification in Maternal and Newborn Nursing.
Carter is particularly passionate about working with nursing students and supporting their growth from novice learners into confident professional nurses, which led her to CMU as a clinical instructor first, then to an assistant professor of nursing teaching Foundations of Nursing, Health Assessment, Obstetrical Nursing, and Professional Development II.
Carter is committed to helping students successfully transition into clinical practice, focusing on critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional identity formation. Her teaching philosophy centers on mentorship, student engagement, and creating a supportive learning environment that fosters both academic success and personal growth.
In her free time, Carter enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
