Biography 

Christine Z. J. Noel, PhD, served on the Colorado State Board of Accountancy from 2015-2020 as chair, vice chair, and member. She has been licensed as a CPA in Colorado since 2000, and is a partner at Noel & Boyd LLP, a licensed Colorado CPA firm specializing in small business accounting and consulting services. She was named a Woman to Watch - Leader of Note by the Colorado Society of CPAs in 2016.

With more than 20 years teaching experience, Noel teaches Intermediate Accounting I and II.

Noel's approach to teaching may be best illustrated by the name of the workshop she presented to accounting educators at a regional conference in 2016: "Active and Collaborative Learning Techniques for Auditing and Other Accounting Classes." Creating a classroom environment that is interesting, fun and engaging will draw students in and create the best opportunity for their success.

Noel's presentations and publications include, "Ethics Frameworks, Perspectives, and Biases: Solving Ethical Dilemmas", "Teaching Ethics Makes a Difference", "Actually Improving Teaching and Professional Development through Simplifying Continuous Improvement Techniques" and "It Is all Fun and Games: Playing Games in the Accounting Classroom."

In her free time, Noel loves to hike and cross country ski in the beautiful mountains of her home state.
