The Early Childhood Education (ECE) program provides students with a foundation for working with children (birth to age eight) in a variety of settings.
On-the-Job Learning:
2,000 required work hours (paid)
During this program, apprentices will develop proficiency in 50 essential skills under the guidance of an experienced mentor. These skills include workplace safety, social and emotional development, classroom management and other competencies critical for professional success.
Related Technical Instruction:
190 required hours
Apprentices have access to multiple pathways to complete the RTI. Options such as college coursework and industry credentials such as the Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA), Professional Development Information System (PDIS) trainings and Pyramid Plus Certificate training.
Certification
Graduates of the Apprenticeship Program receive a nationally recognized certificate through the Department of Labor and State Apprenticeship Agency. This certificate is recognized nationally to show demonstration of practical skills and knowledge required for the occupation.
