This two-year program includes both traditional classes, and ground and flight training. Students graduate with a FAA certification as a private pilot, commercial pilot with instrument rating and as a flight instructor.

Application Process
Admission to the fixed wing program requires an application in addition to the CMU Tech admission application. Applications for Fall 2026 are open, and will be due January 31, 2026. There are additional expenses for students beyond tuition and fees to cover the costs for in-flight instruction. This process and additional fees are outlined in the Aviation Program Information Packet.
