Vogel believes in embracing collaborative learning, making learning meaningful and relevant to real-world experiences, and providing autonomy support to her students. She also feels that it's important to foster a sense of competence in her students.

Vogel is married, has a son and a daughter, plus three bonus sons. She loves living in Colorado and spending time outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, camping, traveling, reading and repurposing furniture and other home improvement projects. She loves teaching, as it's truly a "work of heart".
