Colorado Mesa University reaffirms commitment to cut through the fine print when it comes to Colorado guaranteed admission opportunities
Colorado Mesa University has offered guaranteed admission to students who demonstrate strong academic performance, providing a clear and accessible pathway to higher education since 2024. Following recent guaranteed admission partnership announcements with Littleton Public Schools, Aurora Public Schools and Englewood Schools, CMU is reaffirming that commitment by highlighting its straightforward guaranteed admission promise: any student who graduates with a 3.0 grade-point average or higher is guaranteed admission.
Beyond guaranteed admission, students who have a 3.2 GPA will be admitted to Colorado Mesa University with no additional requirements and will earn a minimum $3,000 scholarship in recognition of their academic achievement. Students with even higher GPAs are eligible for additional scholarship money.
The commitment builds on CMU’s ongoing efforts to make higher education more accessible, affordable and understandable for students and families navigating the college admissions process and the confusing conditions and fine print associated with many similar programs in Colorado.

Marshall believes that some programs offered by other colleges and universities include additional fine print and benchmarks such as standardized test scores, class rank requirements, specific coursework expectations or differentiation between weighted and unweighted GPAs. The GPA requirement stands on its own, creating a clear pathway for students who have demonstrated consistent academic success throughout high school.
“Just like our CMU Promise provides easy-to-understand financial support for lower-income families, the admissions guarantee offers a similar straightforward approach for students with good grades and families seeking certainty about their students being admitted to CMU,” said Marshall.
For many students, the admissions process can feel complicated and intimidating. CMU believes a simple message can make a meaningful difference: Earn a 3.0 GPA and you are guaranteed admission. Earn a 3.2 GPA and you are guaranteed admission plus at least $3,000 in scholarship support.
By eliminating fine print and offering a clear promise to students, CMU is helping reduce barriers to entry for high school graduates and helping them see themselves on a pathway to college success.
