The virtual fundraiser invites anyone, anywhere to log miles and invest in students
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — As part of its Century Celebration, Colorado Mesa University is inviting alumni, friends and supporters across the country and around the world to get active and give back through the 100 for 100 Challenge, a virtual movement fundraiser benefiting the Century Scholarship, that invites participants to complete 100 miles in honor of CMU’s 100 years.
Built as a fully virtual experience, the challenge allows participants to join from anywhere and complete the 100 miles in any way they choose. Whether miles are logged on neighborhood sidewalks, local trails, open roads or gym equipment, every mile contributes to celebrating CMU’s legacy and supporting students.
Participants register with a $25 entry fee, with all proceeds going directly to the Century Scholarship, a fund that empowers Mesa County students to pursue higher education. Miles can be completed at any pace between registration and CMU’s Day of Giving on April 10, 2026. Participants may track their miles through the official 100 for 100 Challenge Strava group. As a bonus, the first participant to reach 100 miles will win two tickets to CMU Through the Decades – the Party of the Century, presented by Shaw Construction on April 10 (valued at $200). The Decades Party serves as the grand finale to CMU’s Century Celebration.
The 100 for 100 Challenge is more than a fitness goal. It brings the Maverick community together through shared movement and purpose while investing in future generations of students. Participants are encouraged to give beyond the registration fee if they are able, further expanding the impact of the challenge.
Whether participants are experienced athletes or simply looking for a reason to move a little more, the 100 for 100 Challenge reflects the spirit of CMU’s Century by honoring the past, engaging the present, and supporting the future.
Move your body. Celebrate 100 years. Support scholarships, one mile at a time.
