Colorado Mesa University (CMU) will mark the close of its Centennial year with a grand finale weekend on April 10 and 11. The weekend will bring students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members to campus to close out the year and celebrate CMU’s 101st birthday.
The lineup includes CMU’s 10th Annual Day of Giving, Through the Decades: The Party of the Century, presented by Shaw Construction and the Maverick Days Spring Festival.
10th Annual Day of Giving and CMU’s 101st Birthday
CMU’s 10th Annual Day of Giving takes place April 10, celebrating CMU’s 101st birthday and marking a decade of coordinated campus philanthropy. Alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to support scholarships, academic programs and student-led initiatives across campus.
Student organizations and athletic teams will lead fundraising efforts throughout the day, with challenge funds and prize opportunities designed to expand the reach of each gift. The annual event continues to serve as a campuswide effort to invest directly in students and programs.
Through the Decades: The Party of the Century
Later that evening, Through the Decades: The Party of the Century, presented by Shaw Construction, will kick off at 5 pm in the University Center Meyer Ballroom. The event serves as a closing point for the Centennial year and brings alumni and supporters together for an evening centered on CMU’s history and future.
Guests can enjoy curated cuisine, specialty craft cocktails and a dedicated movie theater space featuring rolling showings of CMU’s Long May We Live documentary throughout the evening. The event will also feature a Century Ensemble performance by the CMU Music Department and the presentation of the Mavericks Making Their Mark Awards. CMU alumnus DJ Trizz will provide music throughout the evening with decades-inspired mixes.
Community members can learn more and register at supportingcmu.org. Early bird tickets are available for $75 using the code EARLYBIRD at checkout.
Shaw Construction serves as presenting sponsor, with additional support from ProSpace, Community Hospital, Central Distributing, Baird – The Giannone Maher Group and High Country Beverage along with a contribution of Rowdy’s Revival from Trail Life Brewing.
“Shaw Construction is proud to support Colorado Mesa University as both a builder and a community partner,” the company shared. “By employing CMU alumni and working side by side with campus leadership and partners, we invest in the people and places shaping the future of Western Colorado.”
Maverick Days Spring Festival
The weekend concludes April 11 with the Maverick Days Spring Festival, which brings athletics alumni, students and community members together on campus.
