Award celebrates 25 years of the program and expands scholarship access for CMU students
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Colorado Mesa University announced today it has received a $2.25 million grant from the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation as part of a landmark $25 million initiative marking the 25th anniversary of the program. The funds will be directed to CMU students over the next two academic years.
The grant is part of a statewide investment by the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation, recognizing colleges and universities that share a commitment to expanding access, opportunity and success for Colorado students. CMU is among a group of current and future Reisher partner institutions across the state to receive anniversary funding.
“Colorado Mesa University is committed to ensuring that local students who want to become CMU Mavericks are not limited by financial challenges,” said CMU President John Marshall. “This investment will allow CMU to provide more local families financial support, guidance and the resources they need to earn a degree and build a better life through education.”
Colorado Mesa University is a longstanding partner of the Reisher Scholars Program, which supports Colorado residents who are midway through completing a bachelor’s degree through merit and need-based scholarships. In addition to scholarship funding, Reisher Scholars receive guidance through CMU’s First-Gen+ Support Center to help them remain on track toward graduation. The additional funding will allow CMU to welcome more students into the program and provide them with the support they need to complete their degrees.
