The Bilingual Health and Resource Fair included life-saving demonstrations in English and Spanish and featured CMU Tech's Allied Health Mobile Learning Lab

On July 16, CMU Tech and CMU Tech’s Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program partnered up with local workforce and healthcare providers during the Bilingual Health and Resource Fair. The event was designed to raise awareness about important health topics, including hands-only CPR, and to provide resources and information to the community about men’s health. The fair created an inclusive space where both English and Spanish speaking families could access valuable information about health, wellness and preventative care.

Colorado Mesa University Tech played a key role in the event by bringing its Allied Health Mobile Learning Lab to the event. Faculty, students and apprentices provided hands-on demonstrations, including CPR instruction, to help participants build life-saving skills and increase confidence in responding to emergencies.

In addition, CMU Tech partnered up with the apprenticeship site Game Day Men’s Health  to provide information and resources about men’s health. The collaboration was seamless and allowed for a more comprehensive experience for attendees, combining training, education and awareness in one event.

“The community greatly appreciated that CMU Tech brought valuable training and resources in both Spanish and English. Providing these services demonstrates CMU Tech’s commitment to supporting health and well-being, not just in education, but in the community,” said Bilingual Apprenticeship Coordinator Mindy Gutierrez.

The fair not only highlighted CMU Tech’s strong ties to community engagement and workforce development but also showcased how programs like the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program are preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
