GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — Colorado Mesa University (CMU) is helping students and employees access affordable, reliable technology through the CMU Laptop Program.
Through the program, students, faculty and staff can purchase an HP ProBook Touchscreen Laptop through The Maverick Store for $803, a $200 discount from the standard price of more than $1,000. Each device comes with a three-year warranty and technical support from CMU’s IT Department.
First-generation students are eligible for additional savings through the Alumni and Career Services First Gen Access Award, which reduces the cost of laptops to $603 and offers a total of $400 in savings. The award includes an additional $30 warranty credit, and the same three-year warranty and technical support as the standard program.
The program supports CMU’s broader commitment to student success and retention. Between fall 2024 and spring 2025, students participating in the laptop program had an 82.6% retention rate, with first-generation student participants reaching 83.3% retention.
