CMU Graduate and Grand Junction Startup Win Global Awards for Groundbreaking AI Tool

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado – A Colorado Mesa University graduate and Grand Junction-based tech startup are gaining national attention for helping transform the future of artificial intelligence (AI). The Confluencial, an AI and enterprise tech firm in Grand Junction, is co-led by CMU guest lecturer Kyler Cheatham and CMU alumna Avery Kane.

The team is garnering recognition after Cheatham was recognized for her role in creating ethical AI solutions, that help support enterprise decision-making which ultimately earned her a finalist spot in the 2025 #empowerHERaccess Women in Cloud Global Prestige Awards.

“Tech should be a place where we build boldly, think critically, and support each other without pretense,” said Cheatham. “That’s always been the heartbeat behind our work at The Confluencial.”

The Confluencial proves that innovation and global impact are possible in Grand Junction and beyond through community and academic partnerships.
