Residence Life staff tests students living on campus for COVID-19

COVID-19 testing for students began at CMU as the Safe Together Strong Together opening plan was approved by health officials in Mesa County.

The testing coincides with CMU’s employees returning to work under safety guidelines also developed under the planning initiative.

CMU Director of Residence Life Jody Diers and her team received training from Mesa County Public Health under the partnership between the university and the health agency as they collaborate in planning efforts to reopen CMU in the fall.

“Safe Together represents one half of the name of the planning effort for a reason. Being strong together can only happen once we have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that being safe is possible,” said Diers. “Testing is a big part of safety.”
