Western Colorado Community College Director of Student Services Kelly Reuss

Throughout Kelly Reuss’ career at CMU and WCCC she has had a drive and passion for helping students succeed. She’s worked at CMU’s Testing Center, on the team that introduced an integrated student services model called IRIS at CMU and she is now the director of student services at CMU’s community college division, WCCC. She has a passion for helping students due in part to her own winding journey of attaining a higher education degree, and the trials and tribulations she had to overcome. At WCCC, Reuss works with a wide array of students including high school students through WCCC’s concurrent programs. In this episode, she dives deeper into what concurrent programs and opportunities are available to high school students.

Department Head of Teacher Education Blake Bickham, EdD

Blake Bickham, EdD, has a wealth of teaching experience including at the high school, college and graduate levels. His profession has taken him all over the world including teaching abroad in both Mexico and Uzbekistan. His passion for English and literature got him into teach and the joy of working directly with students has kept him in the profession for so long. In this episode, we discuss the national teacher shortage and how that’s affect this department. Bickham also discusses the vast array of programs offered in CMU’s Center for Teacher Education.
