CMU business students host annual business golf tournament

Student organization builds bridges to local business community

Grand Junction - CMU’s Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) is hosting the annual PBL Golf Tournament at Adobe Creek Golf Course on Friday, April 12, 2019. The tournament will begin at 1pm and is open to the public. Team registration is available through April 11.

Colorado Mesa University FBLA-PBL is a student-run, nonprofit educational organization. Students pride themselves in taking part in several community service projects designed to promote relationships between the local business community and tomorrow’s business leaders. All proceeds go to help students pay their way to state and national competitions.

"The CMU Future Business Leaders of America organization stresses the importance of students and community business leaders interacting and forming lasting relationships.  The annual tournament not only provides a way for students to take part in state and national academic competition, it also provides valuable outreach to the business communities they may one day be a part of," said FBLA-PBL adviser, Deborah Parman.

The FBLA-PBL Golf Tournament is a great way for businesses in the community to come together in a competitive and friendly environment. The cost to play is $400 per team and individual spots are available for $100. The fee covers green fees (18 holes), golf cart, dinner and admission to the awards ceremony following the tournament. Check in begins at 12pm and tee off is at 1pm.

A $10,000 Hole-in-One sponsorship is offered by Hallam and Associates Insurance Agency, Inc. For businesses interested in sponsorship, hole sponsorships are also available at the Bronze, Silver, Gold, PBL and Title levels.

To sign up a team for the tournament, sponsor a hole, or for more information, contact Currey Ventling at 970.589.5240 or [email protected], or register online at: supportingcmu.com/events.
