September: Spanish and the World of Business

Being bilingual is considered an incredible skill for individuals. This applies both to their personal and professional lives. Many people who have this competency pursue careers related to global business. In an international business context, it is obvious that knowing more than one language is a positive predictor for those international endeavors. Nevertheless, there are some languages that are more predominant than others in the global market place. In this presentation, Profesor Carlos Baldo, Assistant Professor fo Business at CMU, will review how Spanish as a second language is a great skill in navigating untapped emerging markets (EM). These EM are geographic regions on which business returns are incredibly high.
