Student Success & Engagement (SSE) supports students through their individual transitions into university life. Our mission is to help students develop the skills needed to succeed in college and learn to utilize resources available in the campus community. Because each student is somebody with a unique set of circumstances, SSE offers five diverse programs, each with its own mission:

TRIO helps first-generation, disabled and low income students achieve their academic potential through workshops, mentoring, academic advising, career counseling, financial planning, as well as professional and personal development.

The Compass Program opens the door to CMU for students who exhibit high potential for completing a bachelor’s degree but whose academic record falls just short of CMU’s standard admission requirements.

The GOALS Program provides academic and personal assistance to Mavericks that want to transition from a two-year Associate degree program into a four-year baccalaureate degree program.

The COSI program, (Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative) gives students in financial need opportunities to pursue their college degree by providing scholarships and academic coaching.

Mentors are CMU professionals that assist students in several ways. This includes advocacy, negotiating faculty/student relationships, and supporting students through their college and life transitions.
