Colorado Mesa University’s Hamilton Recreation Center collecting for students in need

Grand Junction –Hamilton Recreation Center staff are raising awareness for the Albers Hall food bank for students.

On Tuesday, November 6 CMU students will kick off the second annual Gobble Wobble 5k run/walk to collect food for students who may be in need.

“Many people may not realize that some students may need food assistance,” said Lynn Wilson, the event coordinator and Director of Hamilton Recreation Center. “When students fall on hard times we don't want them to walk away from education –so instead we are walking for them on Tuesday.”

The 5k entry fee is at least three non-perishable food items or a five dollar cash donation. The 5k course is a tour of campus and begins at the Plaza at 3pm.
