The Hutchins Water Center is hosting a free event featuring an award-winning river photographer.

River Photographer at CMU

Award-winning river photographer and author Tim Palmer will present a talk and slide show in Colorado Mesa University’s Meyer Ballroom on Monday, April 16, at a free event organized by CMU’s Hutchins Water Center.

Palmer is the author of 25 books about rivers, conservation and adventure travel. His presentation starts with a celebration of the adventure of river travel, comparing the Colorado River to other great North American rivers. He will review the history and successes of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Learn more about Tim Palmer’s work at timpalmer.org.

The event begins at 6pm with a reception featuring beer donated by Palisade Brewing Company. Palmer’s presentation begins at 6:30pm. Find more details and RSVP at coloradomesa.edu/water-center to reserve your complimentary beverage.

Co-hosting organizations will have tables set up during the reception. These include Grand Valley Audubon, Colorado Canyons Association, Conservation Colorado, RiversEdge West and the CMU Sustainability Council. Chevron is sponsoring this event.
