Student-veterans host All Services Ball “recalibrated warrior” Travis Mills is featured guest

All military, law enforcement, and emergency service personnel as well as the entire community are invited the Colorado Mesa University Student Veterans Association 2017 All Services Ball on Friday, Nov. 3, at Two Rivers Convention Center. Cherry Creek Mortgage is sponsoring the event.

Retired United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne will be the guest speaker. He is a “recalibrated warrior”, motivational speaker, actor, author and an advocate for veterans and amputees.

His New York Times bestselling memoir, Tough as They Come, chronicles his experiences after he was caught in an IED blast four days before his twenty-fifth birthday. Against the odds, he lived, but at a severe cost. He became one of only five soldiers from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to survive a quadruple amputation.

Despite losing portions of both arms and legs, Mills continues to overcome life’s challenges, breaking physical barriers and defying odds. Mills story has been featured on local and national news programs.

Please join CMU’s student-veterans for a formal evening of dinner, dancing, and drinks in honor of all of our local military veterans, law enforcement, and first responders. The event starts at 6pm. Tickets are $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP, who may attend a meet-and-greet with Mills starting at 5pm. They are available online at .
