Invitation to WCCC open house
WCCC offers more than 20 programs, many of which have recently been revamped and will be showcased at monthly open houses.

WCCC invites the community to campus

Western Colorado Community College wants to show the community how it has grown, changed and adapted to better meet the needs of its students and area employers. To that end, WCCC will host monthly open houses beginning on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 4:30-7 pm.

Each month, a select number of programs will be featured. The first open house will focus on WCCC’s newest programs – Aviation Technology, Viticulture and Enology, and Electrical Construction. Attendees may also learn more about recently revamped programs including Applied Business Technology, Water Quality Management and Technology Integration.

“We’re reintroducing our programs to the community, many of which have been revamped by our advisory board and/or committees.” said Stephanie Parsons, WCCC recruitment specialist and open house organizer.

“We have, for example, added additional classes to the water quality program that companies have asked for,” Parsons said. “So those earning a certificate or associate degree can head right out and get a job.”

Faculty and students are preparing videos, slideshows and exhibits for each of the featured programs and will be on hand to answer questions. Community Education Center representatives will also be there to talk about non-credit, lifelong learning courses and there will be information available about WCCC middle and high school summer programs.

The monthly open houses will be held Thursdays through July 2017. The dates are March 16, April 20, May 18, June 15 and July 13. All will be in Building B. Everyone is welcome.

A division of Colorado Mesa University, WCCC offers associate degrees, certificates, industry trainings, concurrent and lifelong learning courses.
