Colorado Mesa University percussionist chosen for world tour

CMU percussion major Mark D’Ambrosio has received the extraordinary distinction of being selected as an artist for the 2017 World Percussion Group European tour.  

Twelve performers have been selected to tour eight universities and conservatories in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden and Russia. The group will deliver clinics, master classes and performances between May and June 2017. The repertoire selected for the tour will comprise of new works and arrangements along with existing large scale works. Each soloist will also deliver a solo recital during the tour. The group will convene prior to the tour for an estimated 3-day training course in the UK.

D’Ambrosio is pursuing his undergraduate degree at Colorado Mesa University and specializes as a pioneer of the HandPan, a new and unique percussion instrument, performing across Colorado and the United States. He has released two EPs to critical acclaim and serves as an educator for various Western Colorado institutions.
