Faculty profile questionnaire available until March 10

Feb8As part of an ongoing effort to improve Colorado Mesa University’s website, the Marketing Office is expanding online faculty profiles to highlight faculty expertise and reinforce the quality educational experience delivered at CMU. Faculty who have not yet filled out the short questionnaire used to complete the profiles may find it at The form should be submitted by March 10.

For prospective students, effective faculty profiles can be a major factor in choosing a university. “Faculty are our most important asset as an institution,” said Marketing Director Mike Mansheim. “They’re the folks who interface on a daily basis with our students. In some cases, the faculty experience may be a deciding factor for a student or their parents.”

Faculty profiles also provide helpful information to current students, including a professional and academic background, details about research interests and contact information.

The questionnaire includes a field for external websites and social media profiles. It also enables faculty to upload their latest curriculum vitae and a professional portrait or a photo related to their discipline to be included in the online profile. If faculty members prefer to have a portrait taken, Mansheim said, they should email him at

Profiles are being updated before the university’s website undergoes a redesign to make it more responsive, optimizing its compatibility with different devices, including smartphones and tablets.

“The goal is to have a more standardized way of delivering or presenting the faculty profile. If you look at the website presently, department by department and program by program, it’s very different,” said Mansheim. After collecting this information, the Marketing Office may make minor edits to ensure a consistent voice and will return the proposed profile for final review, edits and approval.

“We pride ourselves on a personal learning environment, and this is one way to ensure we keep that as we continue to grow,” Mansheim said. •
