CMU has adopted new measures to deal with COVID-19. As part of that effort, following is some employee guidance to help you manage COVID-19 concerns.
Any CMU employees experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should call the Community Health Partnership line at 970-644-4001. Do not go to the emergency room or clinic before a call and preliminary phone screening. Self-quarantine while waiting for your preliminary health screening and/or physical appointment.
Masks are required inside all CMU buildings. If a medical condition prohibits you from wearing a mask, you may apply for a waiver to wear a face shield instead or seek a reasonable accommodation.

Under Construction
The CDC and State of Colorado have identified that people with certain medical conditions may be at a higher risk of getting sick from COVID-19. Based on the current phase, public health order, and guidelines, employees may request to 'work from home' if they are considered 'vulnerable individual.' It is the employees responsibility to be informed about the current State of Colorado public health order(s) as communicated by the Governor.
CMU will evaluate each request on an individual basis and in relation to the critical business needs of the University to determine if work from home can be accommodated. A list of defined medical conditions may be found at https://covid19.colorado.gov/higher-risk-severe-illness. Please note that this list may be updated periodically by the State of Colorado.
Employees must complete the following forms if requesting to work from home.
- Work from Home Request: complete and submit to Human Resources for approval. This must be submitted along with a note from your doctor identifying (in brief) your circumstances that places you in the high-risk category. These documents will be maintained within the HR office only, and kept in a separate, confidential medical file with limited access.
- CMU Flexplace Request: complete and submit to your direct supervisor then VP. This will be maintained in your personnel file within the HR office.
As the State and/or County move into different phases with the Return to Work outline, updated information may be requested from you and your doctor as appropriate.
Please stay home and notify your supervisor & HR immediately if you begin experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
