Biography

Catherine Whitney is most recently from the San Luis Valley in southwestern Colorado, but she has a lifelong connection to Alaska and Washington.

She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute, Denver in 1997. Since then, she's worked with a wide variety of domestic animals in clinics and farms throughout the United States and has been to East Africa twice to help with rabies prevention and small farm enterprises. She's passionate about the human-animal bond and the "one-health" movement. In 2014, she received her master's in secondary education and she's no stranger to crowded middle and high school hallways.

Whitney enjoys writing, reading, knitting, hiking and raising foster kittens. She's excited to combine her interests to serve the Grand Valley and the veterinary community. Whitney currently holds veterinary technician credentials in Washington and Colorado.
