Since 2015, Vicki Zarlingo has taught advanced medical-surgical nursing for the LPN-RN program at CMU. Zarlingo enjoys this cohort the most because the students are on a similar career path that she followed throughout her career, and have gained many comparable work experiences as they pursue their nursing degrees. Zarlingo works full-time at St. Mary's Hospital and enjoys providing care to both medical-surgical and progressive care patients.

Zarlingo began her career in nursing as a CNA in long-term care in 1986 and has been hooked on nursing since that time. After a few years as a CNA, she went to nursing school and graduated an LPN in 1991. She then returned to school and completed an associate degree program in 1995 at Mesa State College. After many years as an RN, Zarlingo completed the BSN program through Colorado Mesa University's online nursing program in 2015. She then completed the MSN with an educational focus through Walden University.

Zarlingo lives in Whitewater, Colorado, with her husband, Darrell, and enjoys taking advantage of the beautiful Colorado outdoors. They enjoy camping, hiking and fishing with their dogs whenever they can sneak away for a little while.
