Patti Ward, PhD, received an associate degree in radiologic technology and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management before going on to earn a Master of Education in Technology in Education as well as her PhD in Community College Leadership. Ward spent nine years as a staff radiologic technologist before accepting a faculty position at Colorado Mesa University where she is Director of the Radiologic Technology Program as well as a professor of radiologic technology.

Ward teaches subjects in radiologic technology that include Patient Care, Radiographic Anatomy and Positioning, Image Critique and Radiographic Review. Her other courses include the Freshman Year Initiative (FYI) and Sophomore Year Experience (SUPP 202).

Ward's research areas include learning styles, nonverbal communication, prompted journaling and anything involved in teaching and learning. In addition to teaching, she is the Radiology Club advisor, serves as the president of the Western Slope Society of Radiologic Technologists and is actively involved in the Colorado Society of Radiologic Technologists.
