Biography

Jeff Mills, a Colorado native, started his career in public accounting working for companies such as Grant Thornton, the U.S. Olympic Committee and Dell Computers. He passed the CPA exam but his Army reserve unit was deployed to Egypt in 2006 before he was able to complete CPA licensure. Upon return, and with additional deployments on the horizon, Mills decided to leave the business world and entered active duty military service in 2009 in the field of Information Operations, specializing in information security. He deployed with 1st Armored Division to Iraq in 2010, and then worked at Headquarters, U.S. Army Europe, Germany, the U.S. embassy in Warsaw Poland, and the U.S. embassy in Tallinn, Estonia, and traveled extensively throughout Europe until his retirement in 2016. After retirement, he and his family decided to return to Colorado and quickly settled in Grand Junction where they immediately fell in love with the community and quality of life.

Mills is an avid outdoorsman, regularly participating in archery, kayaking, backpacking, camping, hiking, hunting, bicycling, skiing, etc. He has climbed 45 of Colorado's "14ers" and loves riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
