Cook describes herself as an internationalist – an explorer by heart and a global citizen by choice. Originally from the West, she has recently repatriated to the U.S. after having been abroad for 15 years. An avid traveler, she has lived, worked, studied and traveled in more than 60 countries. Consequently, she professes to be “at home” in many places.

Cook’s professional background includes more than 20 years of cross functional, cross industry and multinational experience. Her specialization is marketing, particularly international marketing. She leverages this diversity in her work and strives to bring both her international and professional background into the classroom, to make the experience come to life and to spark the curiosity to explore more.

A strong supporter of study abroad, Cook has worked extensively with international student groups, and has also served as an international visiting professor on several occasions. Most recently, she was a visiting professor at Shandong University of Finance and Economics in Jinan, China.

In terms of research, Cook has recently focused on best practices for international marketing communications campaigns, as well as the emerging attitudes and motives of young people regarding automobile use and ownership. She is also very interested in cross-cultural aspects related to corporate social responsibility.

In addition to travel, Cook enjoys hiking, biking, scuba diving and running.
