MAVcard Office Q&A

Last updated May 5

The MAVcard Office physical location is closed until further notice and the MAVcard Office is operating remotely. For all Mavcard questions or concerns, please email mavcard@coloradomesa.edu.

Please email mavcard@coloradomesa.edu from your CMU email address with:

  • Subject Line: Replacement Card Needed
  • Email Description: “I need a replacement card and have my current card to turn in.” List your full name, 700# and phone number. Tell us what date and time you’ll be by to pick up the replacement card and we will have it ready.
    • Be sure to bring in your current card when you come in to pick up the replacement card.
    • All of your current lock access will be transferred and encoded on to your new card.

Please email mavcard@coloradomesa.edu from your CMU email address with:

  • Subject Line: Lost card. I need a new MAVcard.
  • Email Description: “I lost my card and need a new MAVcard." List your full name, 700# and phone number. Tell us what date and time you’ll be by to pick up your new card and we will have it ready, or tell us what mailing address to mail it to.
    • All of your current lock access will be transferred and encoded on to your new card.

When you lose a card and get a new one, your old MAVcard numbers are deleted and replaced with a new set of MAVcard numbers. Therefore, there is no way to reactivate the old card.

Access for Academic Spaces

Students or employees needing access should consult their instructor, presider or designee. Designees will notify the appropriate parties when access has been granted. Please allow up to seven (7) days for processing, especially during busy times.

If access cards need to be encoded, the MavCard Office in the University Center will provide that service. Designees will be notified if encoding is required. Do not return to the MavCard Office if your card is not functioning as you were told it should. The MavCard Office does not add or modify access, it only issues and encodes cards. All discrepancies should go back through the instructor, presider or designee.
