No. We are using a mobile-friendly website called "Scout" that will be accessed through MAVzone, in the same way a student accesses their bill, grades, financial aid, campus job info and other university-related business. Students, faculty and staff will use the Scout website to daily affirm that they are symptom-free (i.e., not displaying any new COVID-related symptoms), have not recently tested positive for COVID-19, haven't traveled outside certain counties, nor been in "close contact" (less than six feet for greater than 15 minutes) with a known COVID-positive or symptomatic person.

Yes. This is your daily wellness passport that will allow you to access the campus: classrooms, residence halls, dining halls, rec center, offices, etc. You will need to perform the daily symptom check each morning and students should be prepared to show their "Green Screen" throughout the day.

On-campus resident students are required to check their temperature at least once per day at any one of the many thermal imaging scanners around campus. These thermal scanners are located at residence halls, the dining hall, the rec center, the library and rotating through classroom buildings.
Off-campus students, as well as faculty and staff, are strongly encouraged to utilize these thermal scanners several times per week to assist in self-monitoring for fever, a known COVID-related symptom. While not a requirement, we strongly encourage all members of the campus community to make use of these thermal scanning tools regularly for self-health checks.

Yes. We have taken several steps to ensure that the university's Data Protection Plan is followed carefully and that your data is secure and kept private, with only the most limited access for the following officials: key university administrators responsible for COVID-19 response, public health officials, testing vendors (only to process your results), Student Wellness Center medical staff and Contact Tracing team members. We are committed to securing your information. CMU and its software vendors follow all security standards necessary to administratively and technically safeguard your data.
