Career Services hosts workshops which cater to a variety of groups! These workshops cover everything from resume building to major decisions. These workshops are available for organizations and clubs on campus as professional development events; and are highly customizable for different organizations. This workshop focuses on the importance of a digital presence in the growing world of online networking. In this workshop, our career counselors will walk you through how to set up a LinkedIn account and how to use it to your advantage when looking for a job.
This workshop is held several times each semester and provides information on the development and writing of a resume and cover letter. We will cover what you should know about yourself and your prospective employer and analyze examples of good and bad resumes and cover letters. For more information on resumes types, writing tips, research tips, and references page guidelines, see our Resume and Cover Letter Guidelines
Interviewing is typically the most stressful part of the job search for many people. With preparation the interview stress can be greatly reduced. This workshop is held several times each semester and will provide you with techniques you can apply during each of the interview stages (before, during, and after). For more information on interviewing and types tips see our Interviewing Guidelines.
Employers look for candidates who have real work experience in their field. This new workshop, offered each semester, discusses what an internship is, where to look for one and how to apply.
Lightning Talk Series
These short, more casual workshops are designed for students who want to learn how to best prepare for a Career Services event. They cover topics such as what to expect, how to dress, and how to make themselves stand out. These talks are perfect for club meeting events!
