About me

I am a southern California native with deep family roots that tie me to the Grand Valley. As a child, every summer I would come to visit my grandfather and spend time on the ranch. I loved it but when it was time to decide on a college I was still apprehensive about moving to Colorado. However, one visit to the gorgeous CMU campus and any unease was immediately put to rest.

The four years I spent at Colorado Mesa earning my Mass Communication degree were truly life changing. I was able to travel the country, meet friends from all over the world and completely venture out of my comfort zone. I don't think this California girl ever thought that she would go ice climbing, spend three days camping on the Colorado river or plan concerts for 5,000 students. Now, not only do I get to guide students throughout the college application process, but I am also a devoted music blogger and an (almost) expert camper and I have CMU to thank for allowing me to discover each of these passions.

Favorite thing about Grand Junction

The Grand Valley is home to some of the best local bands and festivals! The Palisade Bluegrass Festival is one of my favorites and it occurs every June. Zolopht is one of my favorite Grand Junction-based bands and I make sure to catch them whenever they have a tour stop in California!
