Student Internships

Internships are temporary positions with an employer that are designed to provide on-the-job training in your field of study. You can earn academic credit by completing an internship and in many cases you are also paid for the work you do.

Internship opportunities at CMU are varied and companies that offer internship positions range from programs on campus and local employers to nationally recognized organizations and government agencies. Experience has shown that internships are not only valuable educational experiences, they also provide a solid base for future employment. Participating in an internship is an opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world situations, and some majors require students to complete an internship.
