Open Source at Play

or

How to stop playing and start creating

Karl Castleton (Adjunct Faculity, Researcher at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory)

The Free Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) community has a tradition of allowing individuals who have the software the ability to edit the software. This tradition extends even to end users, meaning that even a novice user has the ability to add features or change the application look and feel. Mr. Castleton will demonstrate 10 open source games that are fun to play but also allow modification or creation to take make your own customized version (without knowing how to program). Finally a few free applications that encourage creative computer thinking will be discussed as well. If you play games you should come see what you are missing.
