Concurrent Enrollment Programs
Western Colorado Community College (WCCC) is involved in partnerships with school districts within the western slope region to provide opportunities for high school students to accelerate their educations and earn college courses while still in high school.
Four different concurrent enrollment Options are available for qualified high school students:
- Early Scholars
- High School Scholars
- Technical Scholars
- ASCENT
The program, established by the Colorado Legislature, provides unique opportunities for eligible students to earn college credits concurrently with high school courses and to reduce future college expenses by taking classes now.
Each school district has its own policies on concurrent course credits, tuition payments and reimbursements, and course availability. Please see your local school liaison for specific information.
Application/Registration
All applicants for any concurrent program must apply using the Western Colorado Community College application and special Concurrent Enrollment Application and Registration forms. Students will need to meet the admission criteria to be admitted for this special enrollment option.

Admission Requirements
Admission criteria are the same for each option:
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Minimum Test Scores:
and
18 on ACT English for English courses
19 on ACT Math for Math courses
17 on ACT Reading for all other courses
and
- High school counselor approval of eligibility
