Auto Mechanics Camp
Come to WCCC this summer and get a taste of what it’s like to work on automobiles.
Learn how engines work. Work in shops with tools and automobiles and apply science
and math skills in real work situations.

Babysitting Camp (Red Cross Certificate)
Learn how to be the best babysitter on your block! In this camp, you will earn your Red Cross
baby-sitter certificate, learn CPR and First Aid, basics for starting your own business, and learn
how to safely care for children. Participants receive a complete first aid kit along with their
certificate.

Chef Camps
These camps are designed to expose the learner to a wide variety of versatile cooking and baking principles including food safety and sanitation, and cooking techniques such as grilling, searing, sauté and pan frying using a range of ingredients and flavor combinations. The Introduction to Baking camp will go into a variety of baking products such as yeast breads, and some pastry items. Classes will culminate with students catering a party to showcase their skills for the benefit of parents/guests.
Note: Those enrolled in grade 9 or above beginning in the fall of 2013 are considered high school students for this camp.

MultiMedia Graphics, Film and Animation Series
Take one or all of these full-week summer camps. Experiment in the fascinating world of MultiMedia Graphics, Film, and Animation. Campers will be immersed into the digital world of special effects, 3D animation, digital art, movie making, and story building. The series is designed for students going into the 7th through 9th grades. Campers can take any camp they choose. If a camper takes the full five-week series they will receive a discount for the fifth week. Camps are form 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Campers must bring their own lunch, snack, and closable water bottle. (No sugary or diet drinks are allowed due to high-tech equipment.)

Tuition per student: $225 per week, book all 5 weeks and get 5th week for $125

Week 1: Storyboard/Comic Book — (June 3-7)
Start the summer with an adventure of your own making. Create heroes and villains in your own story. This course will show you the basics of character development, exciting poses and storytelling all it takes is paper, pencil, and imagination to set out on this exciting week’s excitement.
Week 2: 3D Animation and Virtual World — (June 10-14)
Jump into the world of your own creation using a professional 3D animation program. You will model, texture, and bring to life your own computer-generated creations.
Week 3: Fun with Photoshop — (June 17-21)
Create, mix-n-match, design, and explore the exciting world of graphic arts in this one-week comprehensive Adobe Photoshop class. Use your own photographs to create digital art and learn the tools of this professional software. Requirements: Cameras will be provided or you may bring your own digital camera or cell phones (must bring your own cables if you use your cell phone for photos).
Week 4: Video Storytelling— (June 24-28)
Everybody has a video recorder these days. Let’s make the most of it with our video editing course. Got a creative kick? Spend a week in a moviemaking environment and learn the tricks of the trade. You’ll write a script… shoot it, and finally put your production together in a video editor while having a great time doing it.
Week 5: FX Made Easy—(July 8-12)
You’ve made your movie, now you want to make it look really cool. In this weeklong class, you’ll find out some of the basic secrets to great special effects. You’ll play with green screen to add your actors into a different background. And who knows, you may even add in a 3D spaceship to your fantastic epic.
"Sound, Camera, Acting!"
Geared to high school actors, this camp takes the stage experience to the camera. Discover how to act for the lens. Besides acting, this camp also includes how to direct a small scene for the camera as well as very basic editing to piece your scene together for the screen. Participants will need to bring a lunch for each day. Participants should also have one comedy and one dramatic monologue memorized for the first day. These monologues shouldn’t go over three minutes each.
High School Students

M*A*S*H Camp
The M*A*S*H Camps are designed to introduce middle school students to health careers and develop
basic skills common to all health careers. Each level builds new information and skills to prepare
students for health careers. Contact the Department of Health Sciences at 248-1398 or visit

Level I - Learn how to take vital signs and achieve CPR certification. Explore careers in the health care field.
(5th/6th graders)
Level II – Learn how to provide basic first aid and survival skills. Apply sciences to health problems including disease identification and investigation. We prefer that the camper have completed Level I or be at least 7th grade standing for the upcoming school year. (6th/7th graders)
Level III – Learn basic assessment skills explore illnesses through case studies, mini-lectures and diagnostic procedures. Identify important high school courses to prepare for health careers. We prefer that the camper have completed Level II or be at least 8th grade standing for the upcoming school year. (7th/8th graders)
Level IV – Learn advanced physical assessment skills, leadership development leading to first responder certification. There will also be field trips to medical facilities within our community. (8th/9th graders)
