CLEP
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows students to use the knowledge they already have to gain credit for classes. The CMU Testing Center offers all CLEP examinations, however only certain exams are accepted for CMU credit. The CLEP exam tests for a comprehensive understanding of a college level class much like a comprehensive final. Students are strongly encouraged to review the CLEP study guide or the textbook before testing. Examinees can purchase study guides directly from CLEP. Students may not retest for six months. CMU students testing for a foreign language (French, German, or Spanish) are required to take an additional Oral Exam once they have successfully completed the written portion. Please contact the CMU Testing Center with any questions about CLEP testing.
Payment
$22.00 due at the time of scheduling paid directly to the CMU Testing Center
$80.00 due the day of the test paid directly to CLEP credit/debit card (preferred) or check or money order made out to CLEP
$17.00 Oral exam or essay fee (check with your institution for these requirements), paid directly to CMU Testing Center.
