Conference Information

On October 25-26, 2013, Colorado Mesa University will sponsor a multi-disciplinary conference on the theme of "Globalization and the Environment " that proposes to explore this relationship--positive and negative, past and future, real and imagined--in the Four Corners region, in the United States, and in the world from a variety of perspectives and academic disciplines including Social Sciences, Linguistics, Communications, Literature, Film, Technology, and others.

The conference will support two languages: English and Spanish.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to send proposals for presentations on industry, the humanities, human services, national security, criminal justice, identity, language or culture. Participants are invited to propose panels.  Graduate faculty are invited to organize panels for graduate students, or individual graduate students are welcome to participate . A prize will be awarded for the best paper in the graduate student track.  Send title of panel with accompanying abstracts.

Abstracts should be anonymous. One proposal per individual and one co-presentation per author will be permitted. The abstracts must be in PDF, Word or RFT and e- mailed as attachments to the address:

Given recent constraints in budgets, we are offering a low cost, high quality opportunity to mingle with other scholars. The Grand Vista Hotel www.grandvistahotel.com is a four-star establishment. In addition to being geographically accessible to the four corners region,Colorado Mesa University is located in beautiful Grand Junction, nestled in a picturesque valley formed by the Colorado River and the awe-inspiring Colorado Monument.
