Housing Residency Policy

Colorado Mesa University is committed to the success of our students. Knowing that students who live on campus and engage in activities have a greater success rate for graduation, CMU has a two-year on campus living requirement. All first and second year students are required to live on campus, provided space is available, unless they apply and are approved for an exemption by Residence Life.

Application confirmations are sent via email to the student's CMU email account. Students are advised to login to their MyHousing page to review and update their personal and living preferences as well as view upcoming room assignment processes.

Room Preferences and Assignment Process

Incoming students are assigned using an automated matching process based on the room preferences and roommate matching criteria from the application. Room preferences are not guaranteed, so include multiple choices on the application. Room assignments began January 15th, 2017.
