Teaching Generation Text

“Using cell phones as a tool to enhance teaching and increase student achievement”

Teaching Generation Text is a self-paced, online course designed for educators who are ready to explore how to capitalize on their student’s use of cell phones.

  • 94% of Americans under age 45 have a personal learning device that could greatly enrich the way teachers teach and students learn.

  • According to The Pew Research Center, “Nearly 100 percent of teens reported using text messaging” and numbers are on the rise for younger students as well.

  • Using research-based teaching and learning strategies, with a simple text capable phone, free web based tools, and your open mind; the content of Teaching Generation Text is immediately applicable.  

  • If we're not preparing students for the real world in which they live, then we're not preparing them for success.

  • Two semester credit hours: ISED 580, $299.00


To Register

1. Complete and return the registration form.

2. Submit Payment:

    a. Submit a check along with your registration form.

3. Access your course.  Upon your registration, you will receive instructions on how to access your online course.

About the instructor: 

Willyn Webb is a licensed professional counselor, an educator with 20 years of experience, an author of four books, and a part-time professor for Colorado Mesa University. Willyn has taught all ages, operated a private counseling practice, and has been instrumental in developing an alternative high school where relationships, service, and technology blend.  She is a respected advocate for harnessing the power of cell phones in the classroom with her latest work and online college course, “Teaching Generation Text.”
