Colorado Mesa University Leads the Way in Early Financial Aid Offer Distribution

Following the Wait is Over initiative, which guaranteed early financial aid offers to students in response to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) delays, CMU continues to lead the charge in communicating quickly to students and families, so they have the necessary tools to plan for the future.

Radical affordability is a pillar at CMU, and FAFSA helps make that possible. That’s why CMU is one of the first to release official financial aid offers.

Recognizing the pivotal role that financial aid plays in students' educational journeys, CMU continues to provide timely and transparent information. By streamlining the process and prioritizing students' needs, CMU is empowering students to make informed decisions about their education, and in turn, their future.

“Today, we are thrilled to announce we’re one of the first to push out official financial aid offers,” said President John Marshall. “For those who have not yet completed the FAFSA, I want to emphasize the importance of doing so today. Filling out the FAFSA is the first step in accessing federal financial aid, state grants and scholarships. By completing the FAFSA, you ensure students are considered for all available financial aid opportunities.”

The early release of financial aid offers underscores CMU's proactive approach to addressing the financial challenges facing students and families. By providing timely access to this critical information, CMU enables students to plan effectively for their academic pursuits and minimize uncertainty regarding their financial obligations.

"As a Human Scale University, Colorado Mesa University is dedicated to removing barriers to higher education and ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed," said CMU Executive Director of Financial Aid, Advising and Enrollment Management Lindsey Campbell. "We are proud to be at the forefront of financial aid distribution, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to student support and success."

For some students, there may be errors with the data as the federal government has said they are still struggling with the rollout. The CMU team is working with those students to get those errors resolved.

Students and families needing assistance reviewing their offers or with the FAFSA process can contact the IRIS team at [email protected].
