WCCC culinary, viticulture programs team up for special Harvest Celebration dinner

The Culinary Arts and the Viticulture and Enology programs at Western Colorado Community College are joining forces to offer a very special dinner to celebrate the fall bounty of western Colorado.

The four-course Harvest Celebration dinner will feature local pork and produce with wine pairings provided by Whitewater Hill Vineyards and Winery. Dinner is limited to the first 60 people to reserve a spot and will be served family-style by WCCC’s culinary arts students.

Culinary Assistant Professor Wayne Smith said the dinner is an opportunity to help students learn and to celebrate the region’s produce.

“The primary purpose is to give students more hands-on experience both in preparing and in serving the meal,” Smith said. “This is also such a plentiful time of year in our area and a meal featuring local products is a great way to enjoy our community.”

The dinner is on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 6pm in the Chez Lena dining room, Building B, at WCCC, 2508 Blichmann Ave. It is $38 per person. Reservations are required and may be made at https://supportingcmu.org/harvest-dinner .
