Art gallery hosts second exhibit by graduating student-artists

Art lovers and Colorado Mesa University supporters are invited to join the CMU Department of Art and Design for Existence, the second of four exhibits featuring artwork from graduating seniors.

Existence, which opened on March 1, showcases the artwork of Michael Martinez, Lauren Stern and Jenni Jones. All three are graduating from CMU’s studio art program this year, and are candidates for bachelor of fine arts degrees. As part of the Senior Seminar and Portfolio course, the students coordinate the series as preparation for future professional careers in visual arts.

The exhibit encompass a variety of mediums including printmaking, painting and fiber arts, from both two-dimensional and three-dimensional perspectives. It runs through March 26.

437CO is located at 437 Colorado Avenue. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 12-5pm, and admission is free. For more information, call the Department of Art and Design at 970.248.1833.
