A word from the President

The wait is almost over. When students, faculty and staff return from the Thanksgiving holiday, the renovated and expanded Tomlinson Library will reopen for use. After a year of work, it’s exciting to have this great new space available for students just in time for Finals Week.

When it opens on November 30, you’ll see that the library has been completely reimagined. Tomlinson Library now has 300 computer workstations throughout the building, 25 group study rooms, new classrooms, and has maximized study space with high-density shelving for the books. There’s a 24-hour study space for students, accessible with a MAVcard, the latest audio and visual equipment and, of course, food and coffee to fuel the students through finals and beyond.

It will be nice for the library staff to have their space back, and for the academic and intellectual heart of campus to be fully functioning once again.

The end of the fall semester is headed our way, too. I’d like to thank faculty and staff for their hard work this semester. Please make sure that our students finish strong and study hard for those final exams. In the meantime, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving break!
