Mav Month continues in downtown Grand Junction

Downtown Grand Junction is celebrating Colorado Mesa University with great deals for students, parents and alumni throughout October.
The university kicked off the month with Parents’ Weekend, followed quickly by Homecoming 2015, but the bargains continue all month long. More than 10 downtown merchants are participating in Mav Month, including The Palette, Pablo’s Pizza, Tangled and Summit Canyon Mountaineering.
Vendors like Grand Valley Books are offering a discount for customers with MAVcards. A Robin’s Nest, an antique store, will give Mavericks a free gift with any purchase. Other businesses have developed CMU-themed products, such as the Green Maverick Smoothie at Main Street Bagels or the Maverick Pizza at Pablo’s Pizza.
“It’s just a great time for downtown to say, ‘Hey, we love being a university town, we love CMU, and welcome to downtown,’” said Allison Blevins, communications and marketing director for the Downtown Grand Junction Business Improvement District. “All of the downtown merchants are really excited about it.”
