When Madison Rasimas committed to Colorado Mesa University’s women’s soccer team, she did it in style. The high school junior sent CMU a video showcasing her talents and her excitement about attending the university in 2016, even getting her parents involved.
Her enthusiasm was infectious — inspired by Rasimas, this summer CMU launched a contest for incoming students. They were encouraged to share their Maverick spirit in a 15-second video submitted via social media or the university website, then ask their friends and family to vote for their work. The seven most-popular videos earned their creators an iPad.
Incoming students took the idea and ran with it, using selfie sticks, creative costuming, acceptance letters and everything in between.
