Fifteen members of the Colorado Mesa University chapter of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo. on April 10 to compete at the 2014-15 State Leadership Conference. They returned to Grand Junction with 54 top-five awards from the conference.

During the two-day event, hosted by Colorado Technical University, collegiate members from across the state competed in business-based tests, presentations and role-playing events.

The CMU chapter brought home one fifth place award, four fourth place awards, five third place awards, 13 second place awards and 31 first place awards. Thanks to their strong performances, all 15 CMU students qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference this summer in Chicago, Ill.

The CMU PBL members who attended the conference and qualified for nationals are Jonas Balloga, Heather Brown, Michael Eldridge, Jordan Fisher, Anthony Hammond, Amelia Higgins, Jordan Lehr, Megan Lewin, Kathryn Oshiro, Zach Robinson, Caity Ross, Michael Saavedra, Steven Schopen, Parker Sowash and Currey Ventling.
