Holocaust Awareness Series returns for 12th year

An interdisciplinary event, Colorado Mesa University’s 2015 Holocaust Awareness Series will be held April 6–10. Throughout the week, programs will investigate the origins, events, experiences and effects of the Jewish Holocaust. Faculty presenters will also discuss contemporary government-sponsored genocide. An on-campus Field of Flags display will represent the groups targeted during the Holocaust.

The format of each presentation varies widely and, in the past, has included lectures, film screenings and discussions. The presenters themselves come from fields that are just as diverse, including history, criminal justice, mass communication, performing arts, forensic archaeology, art, psychology and more.

All of the events are free and open to the public. The series tries to bring Grand Junction residents together with the CMU academic community to focus on issues of education, respect and diversity.
