Locations of library amenities announced

Tomlinson Library will close for renovation and expansion at the end of the semester, but many of its services will still be available to students, faculty, staff and the community in locations across campus beginning Jan. 2.

In December, most of the library’s collection will be moved to an off-campus location. Books, movies and other materials will still be available for check out through the library’s circulation desk, which will be relocated to Grand Mesa Hall’s multipurpose room. Librarians will be making several deliveries of books each day, and will be able to anticipate pick up times for materials.

Two locations will provide computer lab services and reference services to the CMU community. These will be located in room 213 of the University Center and at 912 North Avenue, in the former Klik Clothing building west of North Avenue Hall. The furniture from the library’s public areas will be repurposed across CMU’s campuses and in the community.

Tomlinson’s archives and special collections will be moved to room 135 in Houston Hall. The library’s public services staff offices will be relocated to Lowell Heiny Hall’s fourth floor, while technical services offices will be moved to Elm Hall.
